Austin (@apete1993): Anthony Davis
Davis has been nothing short of incredible his first three years in the league. His game is continuing to develop at alarming rates, seemingly adding something each year to his repertoire. Combine this with his outstanding physical attributes, and you have the recipe for a perennial All-Star and league destroying future MVP.
The one thing that has been a tad disappointing about his short career thus far is the handful of games that he misses due to injuries every year. Things will continue to get better as he puts on muscle to add to his tiny frame and as he switches more to power forward a lot with Omer Asik and Alexis Ajinca both getting new contracts this offseason.
Davis didn’t shy away in the spotlight during his first playoff appearance against the best team in the league. He averaged an insane 31.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game while shooting 54.0% from the field going up against the second best defense in the league and defensive player of the year candidate Draymond Green. Fans always love it when the best players show up on the biggest stage, and even though the team was swept, no star shined brighter than Davis. He is my early pick to win MVP next season.
