To pass David West and his longevity and numbers on this list a player had to be beyond special. Luckily for New Orleans Pelicans fans there is someone who fit the bill and he still resides on the roster and is just 22-years old.
After this past season that ended in a fifth place finish in the NBA MVP voting, Anthony Davis is well on his way to not just being one of the best players in New Orleans Pelicans franchise history, but one of the best players in the history of the NBA.
He does by combining incredible instincts with incredible skills and incredible work ethic, turning his offense, a perceived weak point when he entered the league, into a strength thanks to an unblockable jumper. Defensively Davis is still incredibly raw yet finds was to bother shots that shouldn’t be changed. Every game there are moments that leave viewers trying to comprehend what happened in ways only the best players in the world can do.
The scary part is that there doesn’t seem to be a ceiling to Davis’s game. Since he became a well-regarded prospect in high school Davis just evolves year after year into a better player with improvements coming in areas both expected and not.
For Anthony Davis it feels like the question isn’t can he be the best player in the league but when, which makes his spot on this team fairly easy to place. Just how far beyond everyone else he ends up remains to be seen.
