It has been about six months since the New Orleans Pelicans 2014-2015 season ended at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. Much has happened in that time from former head coach Monty Williams being fired despite the playoff berth to players like Omer Asik, Dante Cunningham and Alexis Ajinca reaching long-term contracts with the Pelicans in free agency.

Since then, there has been a bunch of discussing, and at times more accurately arguing, about what the Pelicans are going to be going forward, who should stay as long-term members of the team and what the ceiling of this iteration of the roster is. While all of those questions will still be talked about at times this season, those questions can finally be put to rest as real basketball begins again tonight with the journey to the NBA playoffs in April consuming us for months.

Of course with a new season comes new predictions and we here at Pelican Debrief were not going to just shy away from those responsibilities. So here are our team focused predictions heading into the 2015-16 season, with a post coming later today on questions that will require player specific answers as well. As always, feel free to ask any other questions you may have in the comment section below, and to answer any of these questions yourself.

Most importantly, though, get excited. Because New Orleans Pelicans basketball that counts is back. It will be hard to get better news than that today.
