More exciting win, Cavs or Spurs?
Austin: Cavaliers. It was an overtime game, and even though they squandered the lead in the fourth quarter, it looked like they were done for under a minute left. Davis was stellar at the end of the game and they got a win against the best team in the Eastern Conference. Jrue hit a game trying three, and Davis had a sensational steal and dunk late in the game. This is the type of win that should have given the team momentum going forward.
Matt: The Cavs for sure. The Spurs win was nice but it was kind of boring game as San Antonio has taken a much different approach this year that leads to it. The Cavs game had the Pelicans playing at a very high level for three quarters before LeBron James did LeBron James things and got the game close. Add the Davis steal and dunk and Holiday steal and it was a game that will be hard to top for best win this year.
Nathan: Unfortunately, I missed both of those games because of gigs, but I’ll go with the Cleveland game. The back-and-forth is always good for a thrill, and Holiday’s three to tie it up will definitely be mentioned in a “best moments from the season” piece. Plus, the Cavaliers are a bit arrogant, so that’s always more fun than beating the humble super team from San Antonio.
Rick: Cavs. The game was insane. A big fourth quarter lead evaporating with all expectation for New Orleans to blow it again just for Jrue Holiday to hit an unreal shot. Then, to have an extra period be dominated by the starting unit and the entire Cavs roster be shut down on offense to just three points. It was fantastic to actually see a game that shows off the capabilities of this team, which withstood a LeBron James onslaught throughout the entire fourth quarter.
