The New Orleans Pelicans start the new year right by beating the Mavericks on their home court.

With Tyreke Evans out on Saturday night, the New Orleans Pelicans faced an uphill battle against the Dallas Mavericks. The Pelicans responded by securing a hard-fought victory on the road to start the new year with a win. The usual suspects contributed strong performances, and the team and fans have plenty to feel good about after that game.

Other Observations

  • The Pelicans’ guards made a concerted effort to toss more lobs in the direction of Anthony Davis. Fans were rewarded with quite a few highlight reel jams.
  • Jrue Holiday was truly spectacular and the chemistry with Davis was so obvious to everyone watching the game.
  • The Pelicans got a hard-fought win against a good basketball team. This is the kind of game the Pelicans can build off of.
