The Pelicans were unable to pull out a win in Los Angeles today, despite incredible clutch play from Jrue Holiday. They remain the fourth worst team in the league.

For those of you who are rooting for losses, today’s game was exactly what you would be looking for. If the Brooklyn Nets win their next game the Pelicans will be tied with them for the third fewest wins in the league. Why is this good news? Because if you end the season with the third fewest wins you get the third best odds in the lottery.

If you want the 8th seed, you likely didn’t enjoy this game. If you want Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram, or Kris Dunn then you likely had yourself a good time.

Observations:

  • Pelicans could potentially have the third worst record in the league very soon
  • This is a good thing, most fans at this point realize how valuable this lottery pick is.
  • Jrue should start, Gordon or Tyreke need to go to the bench.
  • If it’s between Gordon or Tyreke, send Gordon down since Jrue and Tyreke have shown great chemistry in their time spent together on the floor.
  • Anthony Davis is a great side-line cheerleader.
