In one of the most surprisingly entertaining games this season, the rag-tag Pelicans narrowly fell to the scrappy and equally depleted Chicago Bulls.

PG. New Orleans Pelicans. TONEY DOUGLAS. A. Toney Douglas was alive tonight. He was on fire from behind the line and had no trouble driving into the lane the entire night. He ended the game with 21 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists in 32 minutes on 8/13 shooting from the floor and 3/6 shooting from deep. With only eight active players in tonight’s game, it would have been easy for Douglas to force up bad shots the entire night. Luckily, he was careful and confident with his selection and made the Bulls pay when he let the rock fly.

A++. Really incredible game from Ennis tonight. He dropped 29 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists, a steal, and a block in 39 minutes on 9/14 shooting from the floor and 5/8 shooting from deep. His defense wasn’t fantastic, but he held his own and the hustle was certainly there the entire night. Do I think he’s actually this talented? No way. Ennis is playing out his mind because he’s in a contract year and he wants to get paid, he will certainly fall back to earth.. SF. New Orleans Pelicans. JAMES ENNIS

C+. Solid game from Dante. He dropped 10 points on 5/9 shooting, grabbed a rebound and dished out two assists. The nice part was that even though his scoring wasn’t entirely consistent, his defense was key and frustrated the Bulls forwards at times. He guarded Butler through Mitotic and made sure to make them work for all their points, which is enough when Ennis and Douglas are dropping bombs in the backcourt.. SF. New Orleans Pelicans. DANTE CUNNINGHAM

D-. Luke Babbitt is one of those players who has to be awesome on offense, or he isn’t worth keeping in the game. Babbitt is a horrendous defender, so on nights when he can’t find his shot he is one of the most toxic players in the entire league. Tonight he shot 2/10 from the floor, and 0/2 from deep. He was a huge negative on both ends of the court, and wasted so much shot clock time dribbling back and forth I wanted to scream at my TV. Sorry Luke, you are not the chosen one.. SF. New Orleans Pelicans. LUKE BABBITT

OMER ASIK. A. Maybe my favorite Asik game this season. For some reason (maybe sneaky tanking) he didn’t really play in the 2nd half. Regardless, in the 24 minutes he got (mostly in the first half), he dropped 14 points on a remarkably efficient 6/8 from the floor while grabbing 7 rebounds, dishing out an assist, and securing 3 steals. If Asik is finally getting comfortable in the system, I wouldn’t mind keeping him around next season. If not, I hope this might raise his trade value so we can move him over the summer. . C. New Orleans Pelicans

A+. Frazier is the spiritual heir to the throne of Ish Smith. He was electric tonight, and dazzled the Bulls defense with a series of step backs and hesitations that had my eyes darting all over my television. He dropped 20 points on 6/15 shooting along with an incredible 11 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals in his 32 minute off the bench. I think Ennis is largely just feeling the contract year adrenaline, whereas I’m much more confident in Frazier’s talents long term. Here’s to finding new Pelicans!. PG. New Orleans Pelicans. TIM FRAZIER

B+. Hamilton provided some much needed support on the wings tonight. He dropped an impressively efficient 15 points on 5/10 shooting from the floor and 3/6 shooting from deep. His shot selection was terrible at times, but you can only be so mad at a guy for taking bad shots when he ends up making them in the end. His defense is still hugely inconsistent, but again you can only expect so much from another 10-day pick up. Hamilton has been fine, but he hasn’t earned himself a roster spot next season.. SF. New Orleans Pelicans. JORDAN HAMILTON

D+. 16 minutes, 0/1 from the floor, -11 in his net impact. The Kendrick Perkins era might finally be coming to an end in New Orleans.. C. New Orleans Pelicans. KENDRICK PERKINS
