The Stranglers

Moore/Hill/Pondexter/Cunnigham/Asik(Diallo)

Every once in awhile, NBA teams come against players experiencing that once in a lifetime, NBA Jam type heater. Like Mo Williams’ 52 point night, Klay’s 37 point quarter, and pretty much 75% of all of Steph Curry’s nights.

When that happens, Gentry can try countering with an offensive unit geared around the shooting of Buddy, and/or post game of Ajinca.

Or, he can try something completely different.

He can trot out five incessant workhorses whose soul purpose on the court will be to dog the opposing team from the moment they inbound the ball until the final tick of the 24-second clock.

An all defensive unit geared around energy and frustration.  They will have the fire, the wingspan, and the spare personal fouls to throw at opponents until their unstoppable jumpers become shameful, desperate attempts.

The opponent’s frustration could boil over, causing forced shots, errant passes and quick transition buckets for the Pelican Stranglers.
