Wednesday, November 23rd: New Orleans Pelicans vs Minnesota Timberwolves

These two young teams in the Western Conference could become the NBA’s next best rivalry.

Fellow Kentucky Graduate Karl Anthony-Towns has quite the competition with Anthony Davis. Both budding stars have taken their teams from the cellar of the Western Conference and given their fan bases excitement.

Both teams have also began to build their roster up, with other young talents that look to prove themselves to be capable NBA starters. With many big names of the West likely to retire in the next few years, it could be time for these teams to take to reigns.

The New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves split their season series 2-2 last year. With the recent stretch of wins, the momentum is still on Minnesota’s favor. The Pelicans still swept the series in 2014-2015 and will look to bring that season back to form.

The series brings great matchup battles, as both teams bring good offensive and defensive capabilities to the game. An offensive minded coach in Alvin Gentry versus Minny’s defensive minded leader in Tom Thibodeau. It sets up for quite the primetime game in late November.
