Saturday, April 8th: New Orleans Pelicans @ Golden State Warriors

This battle against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors could decide the New Orleans Pelicans playoff fate once again.

After beating the Warriors two years ago to set up a magical run, this season could have this late contest between these teams decide it once again. However, there’s one glaring difference to the battle this time: Kevin Durant.

The Pelicans want to show the NBA, just like every other team, that anyone is beatable on any night. That includes the new “super team” in Golden State. New Orleans relied on their depth and a fantastic game from Anthony Davis to pull off this feat a few years back. They will need the same kind of performance once again.

Quite possibly, this game could get even bigger, depending on the Warriors record when this game happens. Golden State set the record for wins in a regular season with 73 last year. With Kevin now on the team, they’re looking to beat that record.

With the Pelicans late on the schedule, any kind of record close to the 74 win mark for the Warriors could make New Orleans a possible spoiler. It’s a mark that might not only affect the Pels’ playoff odds, but the record books as well. That’s more than enough fire for this game to be a must watch.
