Evan Fournier

Now, for the home run swing.  Evan Fournier is lost in a sea of Magical despair in Orlando. Rob Hennigan will lose his job this offseason, the roster will be gutted and a new General Manager may seek to clean the books.  What better and easier way than parting with Evan Fournier?

It’s not likely he’ll be able to part with Bismack Biyombo’s staggering four year, $72 million dollar contract.  The NBA is overflowing with big men who can’t find minutes.  Nikola Vucevic at four years and $53 million will be equally difficult to part with.

But a versatile wing averaging 17 points in 33 minutes, with a career three point average of 38 percent? This contract is not only movable, but it may be the only chance they have to get out of the $104 million and get a valuable asset in return.  The Magic love Fournier and he likes being there, as his discounted five year $85 million contract will confess. The Magic are not likely to part with the young Frechmen, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

The trade would likely cost the Pels Quincy Pondexter, E’Twaun Moore and some filler, as well as a lightly protected 2018 first round pick and possibly 2017 second round pick (by way of Philadelphia).
