5) With twelve games left, and the New Orleans Pelicans sitting at 29-41, winners in four of their past five, and with four matchups remaining against the Blazers and Nuggets, how do you see the season ending?

Brian:

I predict a 5-7 end to the season with the Pelicans having won too many games to have a realistic shot at keeping their draft pick and having missed the playoffs.  A lose-lose.

Tyler:

I envision the Pelicans splitting the last 12 games (.500) finishing 35-47. It would be a miracle for them to reach the playoffs.

Wilton:

I predict the Pelicans will finish the season at 8-4 or 7-5. Essentially, they will finish the season 37-45 or 36-46. The Pelicans have some tough matchups to play early on in their final 12 games. I would love to see them get the eighth spot. However, they will have to be nearly perfect down the stretch and hope that some of the top-tier teams in the Western Conference began to lose their edge for them to make the playoffs. In the final 12 games, the Pelicans will win two of the three contests against Denver but most likely lose to the Trail Blazers.

Preston:

35-47. The Pels schedule is tough early on (Grizz, Rockets, Jazz, Mavs), and the late season run they may go on against the Kings, Bulls, Lakers etc will be too little too late.  Even with an 8-4 finish, they may pass the Nuggets, but it won’t be enough to catch the Blazers who have a cupcake schedule to close the season.

Eddie:

They will most likely end up .500 in their remaining 12 games. They will play hard enough to try and finish strong as well as taking this time to develop the Boogie-Brow chemistry.

But at the same time they will not play hard enough against teams like the Nuggets or Blazers who will be fighting hard to stay within the playoff spot

Rick:

Extremely close, but no playoff birth this year. With how far they put themselves behind early, there was a minor chance the playoffs were realistic. Still, they will get fairly close, just due to the schedule easing up late and the talents of this squad finally coming together.
