Friend of the podcast Ian Levy of FanSided NBA, The Step Back, and Hardwood Paroxysm joins the Pelican Debrief Podcast. We ask him ten questions on the New Orleans Pelicans entering an offseason that will no doubt deliver a dramatic impact on the team’s future.

Listen to the conversation about the New Orleans Pelicans in its entirety here:

The New Orleans Pelicans have once again found defeat, in their race to reach the eighth seed out West. The Dell Demps/Anthony Davis partnership has now failed to win 35 games in all but one of their seasons together.

The season came to a disheartening end against the Denver Nuggets two weeks ago. In that heartbreaking contest, the Pelicans collapsed late to lose 134-131. That was behind two mile high turnovers by free agent point guard Jrue Holiday.

It’s no secret Jrue Holiday is struggling, since forming “The Big Three”. His points per game, assists, and three point percentages have all plummeted in the last 25 games of the season. That has been since the addition of DeMarcus Cousins via trade.

Head Coach Alvin Gentry even opted to move Holiday aside to shooting guard in favor of Tim Frazier. That was due to his shocking rise in turnovers from Jrue.

The only question now is:

“Where will he go, and how much money will he get?”

But Jrue isn’t the only topic of conversation for Pelicans’ fans. General Manager Dell Demps made a job saving swindle of a deal, to bring All Star DeMarcus Cousins to the Pelicans.

Yet the Pelicans management hasn’t officially declared Dell Demps as the captain of the Pelicans, for the 2017-18 season. However, fans have to assume Boogie, Demps and Gentry will ride this season out together.

With these storylines in mind, we bring on our friend Ian Levy, fresh off his ESPN appearance, to educate fans on the state of the Pelicans, as well as the rest of the NBA..

Ian’s knowledge of the league and his uncommon ability to analyze and break down NBA athletes provides a perspective different than anything we’re used to in New Orleans.

Things are going to get very interesting in this Pelicans’ offseason. These decisions could be the deciding factor, in what will be a vital year for the team’s future.  Click the Blog Talk Radio player above and listen in to ten questions with our friend, and NBA expert, Ian Levy!
