Having two great players at the center and power forward position is a rarity in today’s NBA. Luckily for the Pelicans, the rapid impact decline of these positions is not due to height but in a lack of versatility. Most bigs simply can’t do enough things well.

DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis do not have this problem and it’s their main argument for being a combination that succeeds. It is also an argument one could make for them being able to go toe to toe with the great duos of the past despite the Pels’ epic dearth of depth.
