With the release of NBA 2k18, due out on the 19th of September, we will look at the Pels roster and guess the ratings of each player, based on ratings already released for certain players.

I will list the previous rating when NBA 2k17 was released and what the projection may be 1 year later.

Frank Jackson – 2k17 – N/A

Projected  2k18 – 69

The rookie was selected at number 31 in the draft, which could be a steal for the Pels. Unfortunately, Jackson was injured for the Summer League, so we haven’t been able to see him in a Pelicans uniform just yet.

Jackson was one and done at Duke, who were loaded with players like, Jayson Tatum, Luke Kennard, and Harry Giles, as well as Grayson Allen and Marques Bolden. You can forgive Jackson for falling a bit lower with a draft loaded with point guards.

Jackson averaged 10.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, whilst shooting 40% from 3 and 54% on 2-point shots. He is a physical phenomenon as well, so while his rating is low, I am going with NBA 2k18’s rating for other players who went around him in the draft.

Cheick Diallo – 2k17 – N/A

Projected 2k18 – 71

Diallo did not have a rating as he was assigned to the D-League, so was not featured in the game to start with.

Diallo had limited minutes in the league, but still averaged 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds. He also had a very strong Summer League performance.

I believe Diallo may get some minutes as a role player, but I think his rating at this stage will be around 71. He is a below average player but young, so this is the area 2K usually ranks players of his status.
