New Orleans Pelicans – Predicting NBA 2k18 Ratings
By Alex Stokes
Rajon Rondo – 2k17 – 81
Projected 2k18 – 79
Rondo was the Pels major addition over the summer. Rondo is one of the better playmakers in the league but did not have the most productive season with the Bulls after leading the league in assists with Sacramento.
However, Rondo transformed in the playoffs, almost singlehandedly leading the Bulls to back to back victories over the Celtics at the Garden. The Pels curse then struck (I know he was not a Pelican then), but Rondo was struck down by injury and the Celtics won 4 in a row. Rondo, in the two games, averaged 11.5 points a game, 10 assists a game, and 8.5 rebounds a game. If he can produce in this form next year, the Pels could be a legitimate threat in the West.
His old friendship back in Sacramento has brought him to the Big Easy and back with Cousins. Rondo averaged a career high 11.7 assists, and with two of the best scoring big men in the league, this could be eclipsed.
Due to his underwhelming regular season, I think Rondo’s rating will drop before it improves.
Jrue Holiday – 2k17 – 79
Projected 2k18 – 80
Holiday had a very steady year upon his return. The former All Star had solid numbers across the board and I believe this will be shown with a slight upgrade from the year before.
Holiday just committed to a five-year contract with the Pels, saying it felt like home to him. Holiday needs a big year to show he was worth the money and I hope he does.
I believe he will receive a slight upgrade, but hopefully, this will climb over the course of the year.
