New Orleans Pelicans – Predicting NBA 2k18 Ratings
By Alex Stokes
DeMarcus Cousins – 2k17 – 90
Projected 2k18 – 91
One of the best, if not the best, centers in the league. Cousins has it all, he can shoot, rebound and pass the ball as well as any center. Very few players can handle him when he is in the correct mood.
Cousins has added a solid and reliable three-point shot, meaning he can post up, hit the mid range jumper or shoot from deep. This forces opposing players to have to guard him all over the floor, creating more space.
Karl-Anthony Towns has been rated at 91, who is a similar player (and another Wildcat) and I cannot see Cousins being rated any lower. I see a small rating improvement for Cousins, who is one of the best players in the league.
Anthony Davis – 2k17 – 90
Projected 2k18 – 95
The best power forward in the league, and just simply one of the best players in the league. Davis’ ceiling is as a high as he wants to make it. He can do everything and is working on his 3 point shot, which if becomes consistent, should be shudder-inducing for opposing players.
I think we can all agree his rating to start with on NBA 2k17 was a travesty. Davis last year played the most games since entering the league, 75, and had career highs in both points and rebounds.
Davis is a once in a lifetime sort of player and with the ratings we already know, LeBron is a 97, Durant a 96, this would put Davis level with Kawhi Leonard and 1 rating higher than Steph Curry, but this is fully justified.

I, for one, cannot wait for September 19th and the game to be released and play with the re-vamped Pels in their brand new uniforms.
