T6. Jrue Holiday: C+

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; If it was not for Jrue Holiday‘s awful three-point shooting, he would be having a very good season. His two-point percentage is at a sky high 53.7%, and if he was shooting the three at his regular consistency, his true shooting percentage would be a career high 56.7%.

The problem is, this is a hypothetical statistic. The real life situation is, Holiday’s box plus-minus is negative for the second time in his career.

He is still a very important member of the Pelicans core, with the team improving by a net-rating of eight with him on the floor, but his three-point shooting is stopping him from accomplishing even more this season.

T6. Rajon Rondo: C+

Rajon Rondo is just weird. Through ten games, he has done what was expected of him. As a pass-first, pass-second and, you guessed it, pass-third point guard with no jump shot and an inability to get to the free throw line, averaging 9.7/5.3/10.7 per 36 minutes, with a 49.2% true shooting percentage. However, from team to team, no one can be quite sure about whether this style of play will be advantageous or not.

For the Pels, it simply has not been at this point in the season. His RPM is at a disgustingly low -2.5, and his backcourt partnership with Jrue Holiday has produced a -1 net-rating thus far.

Therefore, because his per game numbers have been expected, but his RPM has been low, he has been graded at a ‘C+’.
