Greg Monroe is the hero the New Orleans Pelicans need

When the Phoenix Suns announced Wednesday they would be buying out Greg Monroe’s contract the grand speculation began. Fans and basketball analysts chimed in about various fits, and which ones seemed to be the best. Others may be able to offer more money, or a better chance to win, but there isn’t a single destination for Monroe that makes sense more than the New Orleans Pelicans.

Let’s get this out of the way; Greg Monroe isn’t DeMarcus Cousins. But you knew that already. Hell, he might not be half of DeMarcus Cousins! What he is, however, is a fresh body who does more than take up space, foul, or hinder New Orleans offensively.

This isn’t the first time Greg Monroe and Pelicans have been mentioned together. But this time, there are a plethora of reasons why Greg Monroe fits. And honestly, he is a must add for the Pelicans at this time and place.
