The New Orleans Pelicans are an organization with a complex and confusing history. In 25 years of existence the franchise has moved three times and has changed their name twice. However, even with this, the team has managed to keep one thing consistent; rostering some of the games most exceptional talent.

Currently speaking, the franchise rosters three of the most skilled players in the NBA today; Jrue Holiday, DeMarcus Cousins and, of course, Anthony Davis. The trio performed admirably together this season and were even ranked as the fourth best ‘Big-Three’ in the league by Bleacher Report. Unfortunately, due to DeMarcus Cousins’ season ending Achilles tear, the team no longer has the talented “three headed monster” that struck fear in the souls of opposing teams. At the time of the injury, all hope for the season seemed to be lost.

However, it takes more than just three good players for a franchise to prosper. It takes an entire team to achieve success. And it takes all five players on the court to make something happen. With this logic in mind, we here at ‘Pelicandebrief’ began thinking of what the perfect line-up would be for New Orleans sans DeMarcus Cousins. A lineup that could, hopefully, lead the Pelicans to a successful 2017-18 season. Then, out of nowhere, another thought came into play; what would a Pelicans All-Time starting-five look like?

And just like that, an article was born! For this list, we’ve taken a look at some of the best to ever wear the franchises jersey (both Pelicans and Hornets, New Orleans and Charlotte) and generated a starting-five of said players. These players have been chosen for what they have/had accomplished during their time with the franchise, with the focus mainly being on individual statistics (points, assists, blocks, etc). Now, having said all that, here are our picks for the New Orleans Pelicans All-Time starting line-up.
