For the New Orleans Pelicans, the road ahead to the playoffs is not an easy one. These next 25 games will test the will and might of the Pelicans.

The New Orleans Pelicans are the NBA’s blue-collar workaholic team. They aren’t going to cruise to the playoffs. The road to the postseason is filled with matchups that won’t be easy for the Pelicans.

In fact, of the remaining 25 games, 14 are against playoff teams. The Pelicans will see the San Antonio Spurs three times including the February 28th matchup in San Antonio to close out the month.

The New Orleans Pelicans will also face the Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors before the playoffs begin. This will test the Pelicans will and determination in making the playoffs.

With the number eight seed held by the Pelicans, the playoffs are within grasp. However, the Utah Jazz have won 10 in a row and the Los Angeles Clippers are a half of a game behind New Orleans for the eighth seed. Make no mistake, every game coming down the stretch of this season matters.

Four and a half games separate San Antonio from Utah. San Antonio is the number three seed, while Utah is number 10. Within that, you have NOLA, Minnesota, OKC, Denver, Portland, LAC, and Utah.

The Pelicans will resume play on Friday night at home versus the Miami Heat. The Miami Heat are also fighting for a playoff spot with their long-lost leader Dwayne Wade back in South Beach. Here are the five must-watch games for the New Orleans Pelicans.
