The New Orleans Pelicans road to the playoffs: Five must watch games
By Joshua Lea
Saturday, March 17, New Orleans Pelicans versus Houston Rockets.
This will not be an ABC Saturday Night marquee game for the New Orleans Pelicans. However, this is a huge game, due to the fact that Houston could very well be the team the Pelicans face if they make the playoffs. The 44-13 Rockets are currently the hottest team in the NBA. They also just signed veteran guard/forward Joe Johnson after he was bought out by the Sacramento Kings.
The Rockets are led by the new combination of James Harden and Chris Paul. They’re scoring 114 points a game while holding their opponents to 105.4 points a game. Ironically, they’ll face the same Houston Rockets one week after this matchup at the Toyota Center in Houston Texas.
It’s important the Pelicans challenge and possibly beat the Rockets in one of these two matches. This could prove to be a huge confidence boost for this team heading to the playoffs. Also, it could help the Pelicans challenge the number seed if they were to meet in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
