What to Know About the Pelicans Newest Acquisition

Three-Point Scoring
Ladies and gentlemen, the most significant reason why Walter Lemon, the same man who has been destroying G-League competition, has not been offered an NBA contract until February. And yes, despite where his left elbow may be aimed, Lemon is attempting to get the ball in his hands into the basket in front of him in this picture.
Though most coaches and mechanics nerds already have a problem with this picture, even before knowing if Lemon’s shot goes in, I have a simple policy: if it works, it doesn’t matter how it looks. Many players, such as Joe Ingles, Kevin Martin and Matt Bonner, were able to be great three-point shooters despite having wonky form. The problem is, Lemon is not one of these great three-point shooters. Lemon has shot just 31.4% from three-point land this season. His NBA projections have him shooting 28.8% in the big leagues.
Lemon definitely will not help the Pelicans with this part of his game, meaning that a Rondo-Lemon guard combination would need a lot of shooting around it to ever work.
