What to Know About the Pelicans Newest Acquisition

Defense
In terms of opponent shooting, Walter Lemon is about G-League average from outside of twenty feet, and a very good defender from ten to 19 feet. The likely reason for the difference is due to his general defensive approach. On the outside, Lemon seems to look for steals, and has built a reputation for being quite the pest. He is fourth in steals among G-Leaguers who have played 25 games, and should be just as aggressive of a defender in the NBA. Though this has negatively affected his defensive rating in comparison to his team, due to his steal-first method of defense, it is consistent with the Pelicans current transition-heavy philosophy.
