What to Know About the Pelicans Newest Acquisition
By Seth Nefsky
Conclusion
Being a former G-Leaguer on a ten-day contract, no one knows exactly how much Lemon will play. However, if he does play, Lemon has the ability to be a mainstay in the Pelicans rotation if he shakes off the G-League jitters early.
Yet this does not mean that he will immediately be a league average NBA player. He will likely be a non-factor from behind the arc, and could be a below average shooter from two, as well. But being that the Pels backup guard situation is already weak, as Ian Clark has been absolutely terrible this season, and Liggins is almost as much of an enigma as Lemon, if Lemon lives up to his projections for this season, he could be the team’s third best offensive guard, behind starters Jrue Holiday and Rajon Rondo, as his explosiveness, ball-handling and athleticism should be a major help for the Pels.

Defensively, he could also be a top three Pelicans guard, behind Jrue Holiday and DeAndre Liggins, due to his defensive energy, which far surpasses that of Rajon Rondo and Ian Clark.
However, this is definitely not a guarantee. Perhaps Gentry will not give him the minutes to set Lemon up for success. Maybe Lemon’s shooting woes will outshine his athleticism and intensity.
Either way, I am excited to see how Lemon plays in the next ten days.
