Nikola Mirotic: D

NEW ORLEANS, LA – FEBRUARY 26: Nikola Mirotic /

When the New Orleans Pelicans traded a first round pick for Nikola Mirotic, they were promised one thing; shooting. With the Chicago Bulls, Mirotic was averaging a 16.8 points per game on 42.9% three-point shooting and 62.4% true shooting (all career-highs). Yet, so far as a Pelican, Mirotic has been lacking that essential part of his game. He has averaged just 14 points per game wearing blue and gold, despite playing seven more minutes per game, all while shooting an atrocious 27.8% from three and 49% true shooting. Despite seeing more wide open threes as a Pelican, Mirotic is only hitting those at a 25% clip.

And despite being a reputable defender, Mirotic has seen his defensive effectiveness severely decline from every distance on the floor. So far with the Pelicans Mirotic has been a bad player on both sides of the floor. If this does not change, he could see a decrease in his minutes.
