Ian Clark: B-

NEW ORLEANS, LA – FEBRUARY 23: Ian Clark
NEW ORLEANS, LA – FEBRUARY 23: Ian Clark /

Blah, blah, blah Ian Clark. Ian Clark has been Ian Clark this term. Inconsistent from deep, bad on defense, but due to almost no competition, Clark has been playing 22.6 minutes per game. He is practically running unopposed as the team’s backup guard, with DeAndre Liggins, Walter Lemon and Charles Cooke not earning enough credibility to get significant minutes at the spot. He has had some good games this term, including 15 points against Boston on seven for ten from the field, 20 against Sacramento on nine for ten, 14 against Utah on seven for eleven and 21 against Miami on nine for eleven. But between those games have been a whole bunch of nothing, getting filler minutes when Jrue Holiday or Rajon Rondo get tired.

Perhaps Gentry is deciding his backup guard minutes based on the idea of “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t,” but Clark’s subpar play sure is dull.
