Denver Nuggets: Darius Miller
Perimeter defense has always been a problem for the Denver Nuggets. The team is last in the league in spot-up defense, which coincidentally, has been quite the strength for Darius Miller this season. He is in the 94th percentile of spot-up shooters, averaging 1.28 points per possession, and has shot 42.6% from three overall this season.
Medically, it seems as if the majority of the Denver Nuggets have suffered from the deadly “etwaunmooritis,” meaning that the Nuggets seem to refuse to close out on defense, no matter the shooter, no matter the spot. Perhaps that is why the Nuggets are fourth worst in the league in opposing three-point percentage, something that Miller should definitely be able to exploit.
The Nuggets also give up the fifth most corner threes in the NBA. And being that Miller shoots a whopping 59.7% from the corner, the Nuggets should be worried. In summary, Darius Miller’s marksmanship should be able to strike fear into the hearts’ of the Denver Nuggets.
