20.4. That’s how much the Pelicans improve with Anthony Davis on the floor. His offense has continued to be incredible, and his defense has been even better than usual. The man is even averaging 3.7 blocks per game. Davis decreases field goal percentages 10.1% overall when he is the closest defender, and even outside of 15 feet he decreases field goal percentages by 9.3%. He smothers pick and roll ball handlers like only he can, with his intimidating wingspan and guard-like lateral quickness. He has arguably been the best player in the league since March 4, and the Pelicans could definitely make the second round on Davis’ recent surge.
