Emeka Okafor: B

SAN ANTONIO, TX – MARCH 15: Emeka Oakfor
SAN ANTONIO, TX – MARCH 15: Emeka Oakfor /

Is Emeka Okafor a good NBA player? No. He is terribly slow and should not be seen with the ball in his hands outside of three feet from the basket. Is he an NBA player? Yes. And for a guy that was four years out of the league, that is surprisingly good. Okafor is basically your average hulking tree. He gets a lot of boards, protects the paint with the best of them, and does almost nothing else. This term he is destroying the Pelicans offense when on the floor, reducing it by 13.1 points per 100 possessions, but giving them a defensive boost, due to his rim protection. This makes him incredibly effective against some teams, and completely useless against others.
