Another quality option to bolster NOLA’s wing position is the very talented Rodney Hood. If one merely looks at his performances while donning a Cavaliers jersey, the prior statement may seem a bit sarcastic/ questionable. However, if one cares to look at his Utah Jazz highlights from earlier in the year, they’d realize how true this claim really is.

Hood is an über talented scorer who can catch fire at any given time. He’s a quality marksmen from beyond the arc (37% career shooting) and has the capability of putting the ball on the floor and creating for himself. While he may not be known for his defensive game, Hood has the tools needed to develop in this area (6-8 frame with exceptional athleticism). Add in the fact that he’s only 25 and you have a reason to inquire about Clevelands forgotten small forward.

While some may be skeptical about Hood’s postseason blunders, NOLA should see this as bargain potential. With his unimpressive stint with the Cavaliers thus far, Hood’s market value has fallen significantly. In situations like these, teams strapped for cash (*cough New Orleans *cough) are more willing to take chances on struggling players, for they could potentially strike gold if the individual is able to catch his stride.

When looking at Hood’s career prior to his 21 games with Cleveland, it appears as though the rewards of signing the small forward clearly outweigh the potential risks.
