Gerald Green proved to the masses that he is quite deserving of a roster spot in the NBA. For much of this season, Green was an unemployed swingman just trying to carve his way back into the best basketball league in the world. Then, on December 28th, he got a chance to prove himself with his hometown Houston Rockets. He sure delivered!
During his 41 games with the team, Green saw many accomplishments in red, white and black including a 29-point performance against the Golden State Warriors, becoming the first player in Rockets history to make seven or more three-pointers in consecutive games and, to top it all off, hitting a game winning buzzer-beater against the Phoenix Suns back in late March.
During his tenure with the team Green proved that he is still a serviceable wing player coming off the pine who has solid range from downtown (36% for his career) and impressive defensive prowess. He’s 6-7 and athletic, which allows him to matchup against both guards and bigger wings.

Green is not an otherworldly talent, but he could bring some great range to the offense and solid effort on defense. With the fact that NOLA’s options at their small forward position is slim pickings, Green would likely be their most dynamic wing.
