John Wall

Of all the teams capable of prying Cousins away from NOLA, Washington seems to have the best odds. For starters, as of Tuesday, the team has a vacancy at their starting center position; Marcin Gortat was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for guard Austin Rivers. Because of this, the prospects of Washington going all in on a center this summer seems very likely. Boogie, being the best on the market, looks to be an ideal target.

However, the most interesting factor in this signing is point guard John Wall. Back in 2010, Wall and Cousins were teammates at the University of Kentucky. The pair flourished while running alongside one another and were both selected in the first round of that years NBA Draft.

Since then, it has been reported that the former teammates have discussed potentially joing forces yet again in the NBA. Now, with Cousins’ current free agency, this hypothetical could finally become a reality.

By signing with Washington, Cousins would be filling in a position they are in much need of. He’d be going to a team coming off of its fourth postseason appearance in five years. And, he’d be playing alongside one of the best facilitators in the league today in Wall, someone we all know he can excel with.
