New Orleans Pelicans’ superstar big-man Anthony Davis is on the trade block and is coveted by everyone. There are certain teams people are expecting to make the best offers, but what else could be on the table?

Anthony Davis is desired greatly by teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and Toronto Raptors, and it’s no secret. These teams will have some decent assets to offer up for Davis, but if the New Orleans Pelicans are smart, they’ll field offers from any and all franchises that want to take their shot at landing a generational talent like AD.

To be sure, there is some risk to trading for AD if you’re a team that is not totally positive that he’ll re-sign with you in the offseason of 2020. But we’ve seen teams take gambles like this with other stars as of late. Think about Oklahoma City taking the chance on Paul George, winning him over, and signing him to a new contract. The Philadelphia 76ers hope to have the same luck with Jimmy Butler this summer. There’s a pattern for these trades happening lately.

Which leads us to the Anthony Davis situation. There are definitely destinations where he might seem most likely to end up, but what could a dark horse team swoop in with to steal Davis away from the Lakers or Celtics? Let’s take a look at five potential suitors.
