Option 3: Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers and their fans would hate, and I mean hate, to give up center Domantas Sabonis, but the Pacers are deep at the center position with the currently emerging Myles Turner having the starting job locked down. They are trying to see if Domantas and Myles can start next to each other, but it might make more sense to flip Sabonis for a great player in a greater position of need. Their point guards, Darren Collison and Cory Joseph, are expiring this offseason, so they need to figure something out.

Victor Oladipo is out for the season with a knee injury, so Jrue would ensure the Pacers are able to finish this year strong and get some more valuable playoff experience. Once Oladipo returns sometime next season, they would have arguably the best backcourt in the Eastern Conference with the duo of Jrue and Victor.

The Pelicans land a young center with a tremendously high ceiling in Domantas Sabonis, as well as two young prospects in the stretchy TJ Leaf and the athletic freak Edmond Sumner. Leaf has seen some improvement this season and is looking like a dependable end-of-the-bench type guy, and Sumner has been a force in the NBA G-League this season. Sumner has even gotten some NBA starter experience lately with Oladipo and Tyreke Evans both missing time recently. Evans is on an expiring contract and makes the money work in this trade.
