#6 Los Angeles Clippers
When the Clippers shipped away Tobias Harris around the trade deadline, they stockpiled on assets and created a scenario where they could pretty easily end up with two max contract slots this offseason.
A trade like this fills one of those max slots for the Clippers, but keeps the other one open with the departure of Danilo Gallinari’s contract, leaving the door open for them to pair a guy like Kawhi Leonard alongside Anthony Davis.
The Pelicans get a great scorer in Gallinari, a Most Improved Player candidate in Montrezl Harrell, a point guard of the future in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and a truckload of first rounders, including the coveted 2021 pick from the Miami Heat. There’s a lot to love in this trade package.
