In their relatively short span of existence, the New Orleans Pelicans have seen a number of talented scoring threats pass through the roster.

While NBA teams such as the New Orleans Pelicans speak on the importance of things like passing and defensive acumen, the most valued trait in all of basketball is ones ability to put the ball in the basket.

Whether it’s bullying your way to the bucket for a layup or stepping out beyond the 3-point line, you have to score more points than the opponent to win, and front offices take that sentiment to heart more often than not when it comes to their draft and free-agent decisions.

The history of the Pelicans is filled with a number of unique anecdotes. Originally based in Charlotte under the Hornets name, the team fled south to Louisiana before the 2002-03 season. The organization would then spend two years in Oklahoma City after the damage done by Hurricane Katrina. Following a return, New Orleans would eventually adopt the Pelicans as an official team name prior to the 2013-14 campaign.

Since their time in the league, the Pelicans, unfortunately, haven’t had much success as a franchise, without even so much as an appearance in the conference finals and just two showings in the conference-semis as well. Most of the time, they lacked the talent to compete against some of the true elites around the NBA, but there were also times when injuries reared their ugly head at the worst possible moments.

However, like all teams across the basketball world, New Orleans has had its fair share of talented players who could score with a shocking amount of ease. Some were arguably among the best in the business at the height of their careers, while others may have been a notch or two below while thriving in more of a reduced role. No matter the opportunities given to them, these 15 players all made an impact in the scoring column, which is why they find themselves listed among the greatest to ever do it for this young franchise.
