With the 2018-2019 season now finished for the New Orleans Pelicans and several other teams that failed to make the playoffs, focus is now shifting towards the 2019 NBA Draft. Here’s our initial attempt at predicting each first round pick.

For some NBA fans, their favorite teams are still in action as they fight to survive the first round of the postseason. For many others, including the New Orleans Pelicans, 82 games was unfortunately all they got this go-round. However, whether or not an organization is still competing this late into April, every front office in the Association is beginning to shift at least a little bit of attention to the next big thing; the 2019 NBA Draft.

There’s always a massive amount of excitement and anxiety leading up to the NBA Draft each summer as we wait to find out if our favorite teams are able to acquire that one piece that they so desperately need for the next step in their journey towards championship aspirations. A team like the New Orleans Pelicans want to find a long-term starter they can build around. Other rosters that are already close to contending might just be after a deep bench prospect to round out their depth.

Regardless of where your team stands going into a new season, we all are dying to know just where every promising collegiate and international player that’s joining the NBA will be spending the beginning parts of their hopefully long and successful careers. With the scene set, let’s take a took at Pelican Debrief’s 2019 NBA Mock Draft 1.0, draft picks 1 through 30. The teams are listed in the order that they are most likely to select pre-Draft Lottery.
