Option #2 – Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns are said to be the team that is most interested in working out a deal that lands them Jrue Holiday. Their needs at the guard position are well documented, and Jrue is better than most guys the Suns could realistically bring to town in free agency.
Like the previous hypothetical offer from the Bulls, the focal point of this particular package is the draft pick as well. Again, the Suns probably wouldn’t fork over their 2019 first rounder for Jrue since it’s projected anywhere between 1st through 3rd, but they might be able to be talked into parting with their first round pick in 2020.
In this scenario, the Suns would be banking on one more year of development for their rising young stars in Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton to get them to the next level. If these two guys make a significant leap, adding Jrue Holiday to the roster could make teams around the league finally take the Suns seriously.
However, the Western Conference is still the Western Conference, and the Pelicans would hope the Suns still find themselves near the bottom of the standings once again, which could lead to this 2020 first round pick having insane value.
The Pelicans also return Mikal Bridges and Elie Okobo in this offer, two rookies that are still extremely young and have the potential to turn into something special in the NBA.
