Everyone’s heard all about the most likely New Orleans Pelicans trade that could be made this summer, but what are some smaller moves the team could make? The Anthony Davis deal is clearly the blockbuster, but minor transactions could be necessary to round out the roster as well.

We’ve looked at a few long-shot free agent possibilities the New Orleans Pelicans could attempt to bring in. Today, let’s look at some under the radar trade options for players you probably haven’t been considering for the Pelicans. These aren’t meant to be the flashy trades like what was attempted at the trade deadline, but more so being the kind of moves that will get little to no media attention while still being potentially beneficial.

Trades aren’t an exact science. Look at the Buddy Hield-DeMarcus Cousins trade. The Kings ended up with a greatly improved shooter and the Pels lost out on re-signing Cousins this last offseason. These things happen but could be detrimental to the growth of the team if it occurs too often.

With all of this in mind, it’s important to remember that the impending Anthony Davis trade is not the end all, be all for the New Orleans Pelicans. The team will have some other roster spots to round out as well, so let’s get into it and discuss four players the team could benefit from trading for. These are players that might be buried on their rosters without a chance to shine, or ones on big contracts that a team could be looking to move away from.
