#4 Los Angeles Lakers

Well, well, well. Here we are once again, talking about the Los Angeles Lakers in relation to Anthony Davis. It feels just like old times. Truth be told, despite what transpired between the Lakers and Pelicans around the trade deadline, we know LA would still jump at the chance to put together a deal good enough for AD, and they shouldn’t be counted out of the running yet.

In fact, it’s been reported that some people within the Pelicans’ organization actually liked the Lakers’ offers and wish Dell Demps would’ve pulled a trigger on a trade before the deadline. Because of that, there’s definitely still a chance that these two teams could work out some sort of agreement that gets the deal done.

We’ve all heard plenty about the young prospects the Lakers would likely include here in order to get AD to Hollywood to team up with LeBron James. The package would feature players like Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, and Lonzo Ball, and the Lakers would still do a deal like this in a heartbeat for fear of not trying hard enough to add AD and then risking him not even giving them a meeting in free agency next summer, like what Paul George did to them in his similar situation.

It’s a much longer shot, but LeBron’s ties to New Orleans’ David Griffin could actually allow a LeBron for AD swap make some sense as well. Either way, the Lakers are a mess, and they have to do something to get themselves out of the gutter.
