#27 Golden State Warriors

Sheesh. Can you imagine the uproar nationwide as everyone outside of the state of California collectively weeps as yet another superstar makes his way to Oakland to team up with Stephen Curry? If AD were somehow to end up on this roster, the 2019-2020 season might as well be canceled. It would be a foregone conclusion.

The good news for everyone else that’s tired of the Warriors’ reign is that the team doesn’t really have the pieces to get a deal done. Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are free agents, and neither would be very likely at all to agree to a sign-and-trade that sent them to New Orleans (plus, why would Golden State trade a guy like Durant for AD anyway?).

Klay would be nice on the Pelicans, and the Warriors might be willing to move on from him for a player like Davis, but there’s no reason to expect he won’t re-sign to stay with his current team next season.

That leaves the best package the Warriors could put together likely being an offer centered around Draymond Green, which won’t be enough to get the Pelicans interested. No offense to Draymond, but he’s just not the type of player to build around in a total rebuild. Golden State’s late first round draft picks don’t help things much either. This one will not happen.
