2019 NBA Draft: Full Mock Draft 2.0 – Pelicans take Zion; who goes next?

With the NBA Draft Lottery complete, we can now speculate where each player will get picked. The New Orleans Pelicans will take Zion Williamson, but who will go where after that?

In incredible fashion, the New Orleans Pelicans secured the #1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft when their ping pong ball got selected in the lottery. While the team only had a 6% chance to win this selection in the lotto, it’s turns out that was all the Pelicans needed.

It’s no secret who the New Orleans Pelicans will be taking #1 overall. Zion Williamson was the consensus top draft prospect for the entirety of last year’s NCAA basketball season. He’ll bring a spark to the organization that has been missing ever since Anthony Davis made his trade request back in February.

But what about the other 29 picks in the first round of the NBA Draft? While it’s a no brainer to predict who the Pelicans will select, the rest of the picking order is more up in the air. With the lottery over and the draft order set, however, it’s a bit easier to guess which player goes where based on specific team needs in their draft slot.

So with the stage now set for the NBA Draft on June 20th, let’s run through Pelican Debrief’s 2019 NBA Mock Draft 2.0, starting with New Orleans’ selection at #1.
