2019 NBA Draft: Full Mock Draft 2.0 – Pelicans take Zion; who goes next?
#10. Atlanta Hawks (Via Dallas Mavericks): Sekou Doumbouya, F
School: Limoges CSP | Class: International | Height: 6’9″ | Weight: 230 | Age: 18
Two picks ago in this mock draft, we have the Atlanta Hawks selecting Nassir Little, the small forward out of the University of North Carolina. Thanks to the Dallas Mavericks, the Hawks are already back on the clock to make the #10 selection in the 2019 NBA Draft as well.
Despite already snagging a wing, don’t be surprised if Atlanta looks for even more depth at that position with this pick too. As it stands, the Hawks could have a serious need on the wing with Kent Bazemore potentially opting out of his deal and Taurean Prince being the subject of some trade speculation.
Atlanta already has their guard of the future in Trae Young, and John Collins looks to be someone they can build around in the post as well. Because of this, it makes sense to load up everywhere between in order to try to get these other two guys some solid running mates.
Sekou Doumbouya is a lesser talked about prospect in this draft likely because he’s an international player (a native of Guinea), and he simply hasn’t had a chance to make a name for himself yet in the United States. That won’t stop the Hawks here however, as his raw potential and athleticism give him a chance to be a very effective, athletic wing in the NBA for years to come.
