2019 NBA Draft: Full Mock Draft 2.0 – Pelicans take Zion; who goes next?
#5. Cleveland Cavaliers: Cam Reddish, F
School: Duke | Class: Freshman | Height: 6’8″ | Weight: 218 | Age: 19
Keeping up the theme of alternating Duke picks, Cam Reddish is the third and final Blue Devil to be taken in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers will want one of the higher profile players to come to town, and Reddish ensures they can bring a in splashy name to pair alongside Collin Sexton, their new franchise point guard that will be entering his second season.
Of the three Duke prospects, Reddish is far and away the least intriguing player behind Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett, but that’s not to say there aren’t still plenty of reasons to be excited about gaining his services via the draft.
Reddish shot some less-than-impressive percentages from the field overall, but the potential and talent to become a good scorer are both clearly there. On a Duke roster that was extremely crowded with dudes trying to showcase their own skillsets, Cam could occasionally get lost in the shuffle.
Cleveland desperately needs help on the wing, with their only currently competent player in this position being Cedi Osman. Depth is a major issue for the Cavs, especially on the perimeter, so Reddish could step into the locker room and immediately be in a position to contribute in a big role right off the bat. Welcome to Cleveland, Cam.
