#7. Chicago Bulls: Coby White, G

School: North Carolina | Class: Freshman | Height: 6’5″ | Weight: 185 | Age: 19

Coby White is a couple inches taller with a dozen pounds more muscle than Ja Morant. He may not have the same per game stats as Morant, but he faced tougher competition all year. White has NBA range as a rookie and the guile to guard any backcourt foes that come his way.

However, White is not the best ball handler in this year’s NBA Draft. White looked for his points first at North Carolina. If he could not find a spot in transition, he would sometimes daddle on the ball instead of initiating an offense quickly. For a Pelicans comparison, White could best be used in a Jrue Holiday-like off-ball role.

White could sit in the corner on a wing and keep defenses honest. Once the ball comes to his hands, he can create some offense. Building how many options that offense has is key. White needs to see more than his shot. Once he can see the other half of the floor, his shots will come.

For the Bulls, he fills a definite need. Kris Dunn is a good defender, but his offense is limited. Combined with Lauri Markkanen, Wendell Carter Jr., and Zach Lavine, the Bulls could have an exciting roster with Coby White thrown in the mix.
