Cam Reddish, F, Duke

The other Duke forward would also be a good chemistry addition for Zion if RJ Barrett isn’t available is Cam Reddish. The lesser of the Duke trio that is projected to go in the top 5, Reddish would be the bigger project.

A decent stat line of 13/3/1 on 35.6% shooting would need to improve greatly in the next level, while his 33.3% from deep is good but could be better. I think he does have the toolset to become a great NBA player, but he has to get into the team’s system and into the gym to put in tons of work, because those numbers as a potential lottery pick will not cut it throughout his career.

Still, there are lots of things to like about adding Reddish to your team. Most importantly for the Pelicans, he’d give them immediate help on the wing, which is one of their most pressing areas of need with Jrue and Zion both already bolstering the backcourt and the post, respectively.

The odds of drafting Reddish are a bit slimmer than some of the other players we’ve already mentioned. It seems like he’s most likely to go fifth or sixth, either to the Cavaliers or Suns. No one expects the Cavs to go after AD, so if they opt instead to keep their #5 pick, it’ll likely come down to Reddish or De’Andre Hunter for Cleveland.

If Reddish falls to #6, it becomes possible for Phoenix to take a chance on AD to combine his skills with Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton. Reddish would then be there at #6 for the Pels to take with the Suns’ first rounder surely coming over in the transaction for Davis.
