Ranking the top 5 Denver Nuggets assets in an Anthony Davis trade

#4) Malik Beasley
Malik Beasley excelled for the Nuggets this season with a more prominent role within their offense. He saw a jump in minutes, going from 9.4 per game in 2017/18 to 23.2 in 2018/19. And with this extended role, Beasley’s point-per-game average more than tripled, jumping from 3.2 to 11.3. He also shot an efficient 47.4 percent from the field, and 40.2 percent from distance.
Likewise, the peak of his playing career thus far came in a home game this season against the Houston Rockets. Beasley delivered 35 points on 12/17 shooting, including 5/9 from three. Proving that he can produce at a high level against one of the premier teams in the NBA.
At worst he’s a very strong second unit piece, a player you can call upon to give you scoring when your team is in an offensive slump. The Pelicans were 28th in bench scoring in 2018/19 and can use all the help they can get in that aspect. This asset along with Monte Morris might not scream out star power, but established complementary pieces have their value.
At the age of 22, Beasley can continue this upward swing and develop further into a great rotational piece on a contender. That’s definitely not saying the Pelicans are there yet, but there’s potential.
