We all know what the New Orleans Pelicans will do with their top pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, but Pelicans rumors say they could already have some Round 2 targets in mind as well.
As we inch closer and closer to the NBA Draft, we know for the most part who will be in the first round. However, teams are built by all levels of the draft, even with undrafted players sometimes making an impact on a roster. For the New Orleans Pelicans, we know they’ll take Zion Williamson first overall, but what about their second round pick? Judging by new Pelicans rumors, they might have some targets.
According to a report via Bryan Kalbroksy of Hoops Hype/USA Today, the Pelicans are beginning draft workouts to try to feel out who they’d like in Round 2, starting with these players:
To this point, this workout is still just rumored, however, it’s worth looking at a few of these players to see if they might actually be good fits for the Pelicans if and when they come to town for a workout.
There isn’t an exact science to selecting late in the NBA Draft. You trust your scouting department and your gut when you choose these players and alter lives. Teams have benefited from excellent second round players like Dennis Rodman, Manu Ginobili, Draymond Green, and DeAndre Jordan to name a few. This is a very beautiful time of year where we get names of lesser known players working out for teams in the pre-draft process.
