Greivis Vasquez is a combo guard that had a productive stint with the Hornets from 2011 to 2013. Vasquez didn’t start right away, but given his production as a reserve, he forced the hands of the coaching staff.

Vasquez was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2010 NBA Draft as the No. 28 overall pick but after one season, the Grizzlies traded him to New Orleans for Quincy Pondexter.

He produced 8.9 points, 5.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds through 66 appearances (26 starts) during the 2011-12 NBA season with the Hornets. He finished 20th in the league in assists per contest.

In the following season, he started in all 78 games he appeared in, averaging a career-high 13.9 points, 9.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds per contest. He finished the year first in total assists (704) and third in assists per game.

Despite only appearing in 144 contests, Vasquez ranks fourth in franchise history total assists with 1,042 and assists per game average. In his time with the New Orleans Hornets, he averaged 11.6 points, 7.4 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.

During the 2013 NBA offseason, he was shipped off once again, this time to the Sacramento Kings as part of a three-team trade. He would go on to play for four more teams in the league before his career came to an end after the 2016-17 NBA season.
